Keeping my blog updated will be one of my goals this year.

Assignment: Read the first chapter of Hoot. Write a character profile on the main character, Roy. Describe Roy: What does he look like? How old is he?, etc. Next, tell about what takes place on the bus that fateful morning that Roy first sees the Running Boy. Make two predictions for what might take place in the next chapter. Finally, post a response to the following question: Have you ever been in a similar situation as Roy's on the bus? If so, tell us what you did.

If you have enjoyed Hoot, I recommend Flush, also by Carl Hiaasen. The story is about a Florida boy who must find a way to stop waste-dumpers from ruining his hometown beach.
